GITAE Research Group granted INNPACTO project IPT-2011-0711-020000

The Enhanced Gear Drives Research Group (GITAE) of the Technical University of Cartagena, in partnership with the University of Pais Vasco (UPV/EHU) and the companies DESARROLLOS MECANICOS DE PRECISION SL, ZEHATZ SL, EGILE INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS A.I.E, and FUNDACION CIDETEC, all located in Bilbao (Spain), are involved in the development of the project entitled "Development of Flexible and Advanced Manufacturing Processes of Advanced Gear Drives - ENNGRANA", with reference IPT-2011-0711-020000, financially supported within the program INNPACTO of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (formerly Ministry of Science and Innovation) and partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), with a global budget of more than 4.7 M€, of which 219.451,30 € support the research activity of the GITAE research group at the UPCT.

The project will last for three and a half years (July 2011 - December 2014) and will address a new concept of flexible and advanced gear manufacturing with a high technological content and responsibility, which is meant to be the starting point for the consolidation of a spanish center for design and manufacturing of advanced gears.

The main goal of the funding program INNPACTO of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness is to support the creation of joint I+D projects between research institutions and companies to promote innovation, private investment in technology, job creation, and improve the overall technological position of the country.

Project participants:
