11th ASME International Power Transmission and Gearing Conference

The Power Transmission and Gearing Committee of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Design Engineering Division, is organizing the 11th International ASME Power Transmission and Gearing Conference (2011).

This conference will be held in conjunction with the ASME International Design Engineering Technical Conferences (IDETC2011) at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, Washington, DC, from August 28-31, 2011. Power transmission and gearing researchers and engineers from around the world attend this conference.

This makes it an ideal forum for enhancing power transmission and gearing engineering by providing attendees an opportunity to become familiar with the latest research findings and applications that address critical engineering issues.

Authors and attendees are invited to participate in this premier international conference. This is a unique opportunity to disseminate the research findings to a global audience, and network with leading experts in the field.

Papers are solicited on all aspects of gear and power transmission technology and range of applications (aerospace, automotive, wind turbine, and others).

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Gear System Design and Analysis
  • Gear Strength and Durability
  • Gear System Dynamics and Noise
  • Gear Manufacturing
  • Power Loss in Gear Systems
  • Surface Engineering and Tribology
  • Novel Transmission Concepts
  • Components (Chains, belts, bearings, clutches, couplings)
  • Plastic Gears
  • Wind Turbine Gears
  • Transmissions for hybrid and electric vehicles

Deadlines:

  • Submission of Abstract: February 11, 2011
  • Full-length Draft Paper: February 18, 2011
  • Submission of Final Paper: May 30, 2011

Authors should submit an abstract and draft paper through the IDETC/CIE 2009 website. Early submission of abstracts is highly encouraged.
